Storage & Preferences

Cookie Policy

Last Updated: June 12, 2026. Learn about how we store settings and tokens on your device.

1. What are Cookies & Local Storage?

Cookies are small text documents saved on your device by a browser. Local Storage is a similar mechanism that holds larger key-value settings. Both allow websites to remember information about your visit.

2. How We Use Them

AeroType uses local storage and cookies for core functionalities:

  • Guest Practice Progress: We store your typing speed metrics, completed lessons list, total EXP points, and game high scores in local storage, so they persist across browser tabs.
  • Visual Configurations: Layout theme (light/dark), keyboard guide highlights, volume parameters, and caret types are saved locally.
  • Authentication States: Firebase uses secure, encrypted cookies to verify your logged-in credentials so you do not have to sign in every time you visit.

3. Third-Party Cookies

AeroType **does not** load third-party marketing, analytics trackers, or social tracking cookies. We value a lightweight, distraction-free environment for pure learning.

4. Managing Preferences

You can clear your local storage and cookies at any time via your browser settings. However, doing so will reset your custom settings and delete any offline guest progress.
